Sense of Urgency Is Newest Category for Words of Wisdom
We’ve added still another category to our growing list of Words of Wisdom subjects … bringing our current total to 18 categories.
Sense of Urgency is our new category, and it certainly seems very appropriate. As I write this article, the U.S. National Debt stands at:
$9 Trillion, 395 Billion, 785 Million, 222 Thousand, 922 Dollars and 81 cents!
The National Debt has continued to increase an average of $1.63 billion per day since September 29, 2006! Therefore, by the time you read this, the number above will have increased a great deal. The estimated population of the United States is 303,701,043 so each citizen’s share of this debt is $30,937.62.
Our National Debt is just one of the myriad of issues discussed in the media, at conferences and in elevators across the country and around the globe that would indicate the need for an immediate Sense of Urgency … which seems to be lacking at the moment.
If you’re making a list of such issues you might want to add immigration, social security, energy, mortgages, veterans, inflation, recession, building starts, trade balance, education, jobs, health care, foreign policy, military, global competition, abortion, affirmative action, the budget deficit, tax reform, oil prices, campaign reform, crime, death penalty, drugs, foreign relations, war, gay rights, guns, labor unions, unemployment, the environment and our obvious lack of strong Presidential candidates as we approach November.
