I recently returned from Molly
Maid’s three-day annual convention in the jewel of the Canadian West Coast,
beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia. Boasting the majestic Canadian Rockies
as a backdrop and nestled on the Pacific Port Harbour, the legendary Fairmont
Waterfront Hotel played host to Canadian Molly Maid franchise owners from
all across the country. I shared research, examples, tips, tools and guidelines
with this talented group of professionals who were anxious to pursue the theme
of their convention: Climbing Ever Higher.
Franchise owners gather regularly to discuss the operations
of their business and learn the most current strategies for business growth.
These events provide participants an opportunity to network and to learn how
to put theories into practice. I’ve been privileged to speak at a large number
of conventions during my career, but I must admit that this particular organization
wins my vote for maintaining a fine balance between working and playing. They
were obviously very dedicated, focused, and eager to learn during their work
sessions. They maintained that level of dedication when it came time to play.
Thousands of Molly Dollars were earned during the “How to Become A Molly Millionaire
Game” which was conducted on a game show set identical to the actual television
version. Challengers answered questions revolving around their business and
industry. Winning Molly Dollars were redeemed in the Molly Maid official store
which was set up in an adjoining suite.
Casino Night provided another outlet for the give and take
of Molly Dollars, and I was indeed surprised to find every single participant
sporting costumes from the Klondike Gold Rush Era! Lots of shopping, a relaxing
dinner boat cruise, and several exciting tour choices topped off the weekend
for this energetic group of entrepreneurs.

This unique group of Molly Maid franchise owners and supportive
home office staff returned home a bit tired but re-energized, dedicated, and
determined to Climbing Ever Higher! I, for one, am convinced they’ll
do just that. I want to thank each and every one of them for making me feel
as though I was part of their very special family.
