Words of Wisdom on SalesIn developing our seminars and keynote presentations, we are fortunate to run across many words of wisdom. If you need a refreshing thought, idea, slogan, or profound nugget for an upcoming meeting, presentation, or lunch room bulletin board, take a look at the following words of wisdom on sales. Don't miss our other categories of Words of Wisdom.
Random Thoughts on SalesYou don't sell what it isyou sell what it does. The prospect is persuaded moreby the depth of your conviction
than he is by the height of your logic. You can get everything in life you want if you will just
help enough other people get what they want. There's no business like KNOW BusinessKNOW your
industry, company, product, service, customer, and competition better
than anyone else! If you are not taking care of your customer, your competitor
will. The only way to know how customers see your business is
to look at it through their eyes. People don't buy for logical reasons. They buy for emotional
reasons. The secret of man's success resides in his insight into
the moods of people, and his tact in dealing with them. Most people think "selling" is the same as "talking."
But the most effective salespeople know that listening is the most important
part of their job. Every sale has five basic obstacles: no need, no money,
no hurry, no desire, no trust.
You don't close a sale, you open a relationship if you
want to build a long-term, successful enterprise. Everyone lives by selling something. As you travel down life's highway ... whatever be your
goal, you cannot sell a doughnut without acknowledging the hole. Nobody counts the number of ads you run; they just remember
the impression you make. Sales are contingent upon the attitude of the salesman,
not the attitude of the prospect. To be successful, sell the sizzle, not the steak.
